Up Tenderfoot and across creek to south of Tenderfoot to treed slope. Through trees on slope angles below 30 degrees.

Collapsing in open glades. Slope angles below 30 degrees.

Overcast, mid 20's F, S<1,winds light NE. 5cm new snow overnight.

Snow surface

New snow up to treeline. Light wind crust above treeline.

Hand Shears Moderate +/v down 15cm W aspect @ 2700'

The collapsing was caused by a buried surface-hoar/ facet/ buried surface-hoar sandwich. The slab consisted of (top to bottom) 10cm new snow, BSH (MLK),and 39 cm 1F rounds. Below the weak layer:110cm of P rounds with 20 cm of large, rounding baisal facets. Total HS 180 cm
