Route & General Observations

Our group of 4 (Z Liller, H Liller, K Holderied, A Holman) toured from from the Tincan trailhead through the trees toward Todd’s Bowl checking out the early season access. While ascending to treeline to lap slopes on the way back to the trailhead, we encountered windslabs between us and where we wanted to go. One whoompfed so we changed our route and made our way west at a lower elevation. The change in snowpack was easy to feel underfoot and define with pole tests. A hand shear test failed on isolation; the block “popped” off after cutting 1/2 way across the top with a ski pole.
