One of the spines just below Tincan Proper. About 50′ off the ridge on the S.
aspect. Dug the pit just below some rocks so the representation of snowpack
may not be consistent with other parts of the spine. Probe said snow was ~315
cm. Did a compression test on a column in a pit about 4′ deep. Appeared the
new 10-12″ of windblown snow from the last few days failed on a sun crust at 10
wrist, plus 3 elbow. Lots of layers below the sun crust and I assume more at
even deeper levels. 3:30pm, ~25 degrees F, sunny all day, wind was gusting up
to about 15mph from various directions.
