Route & General Observations

Toured from center ridge parking lot and joined main trail at the 1600′ elevation. From there we ascended main route to the bottom of Tincan Common.

Weather

Broken skies, temps at 2375' were 29 degrees F, winds were averaging 10-15 mph out of the ENE. No precip, and light snow transport by wind.

Snow surface

Wind effected at higher elevations (but only in the very top of the snowpack).
Lower elevations: snow was heavy, moist, and not transported by wind.

Snowpack

We dug a series of pits at 2375 on a NW aspect. Generally good structure, high strength, and low energy. Tests yielded little instability.
