Below 2500' you could push warm and wet snow from yesterday. Above 2500' snow was cooler and bonding much better.
Light snow falling, wind 5-25 mph out of the E and NE. Temps. 38 at the car and 28 at 3200'. Fog and sun took turns affecting the snow surface
A few centimeters of new snow above 2500'. Very wet below 2500'. A faint crust from yesterdays storm ending wet and cooling over night.
At 2500' hand shears were easy. New snow on ECT's failed on isolation. At 3100' we got no results from CT and ECT other than top 20 centimeters crumbling under the stress of the impacted shovel. Two melt freeze layers in pack that could be of concern on steeper terrain, however, new snow from yesterday seemed to be bonding with and saturating both crusts.
