APU Tincan Weather station Mission @2200′. Played around digging into the snow.

Low clouds capping off just above 2000' with clear skies above.
Calm winds.
Slow active riming near the cloud tops
Colder temps froze the wet surface snow from the other day, creating a crust thinning with elevation and disappearing at 1500'. Soft surface snow above. New small surface hoar starting above 2000', with rimed crystals near cloud tops.
Snowpit: 2200' SSW aspect, 34* slope. HS170cm, Pit depth 100cm.
Thin crust with NSF 25cm down
Buried Surface Hoar (6-9mm) with MF crust 40cm down. This layer seemed to be on an irregular plan in our pit location.
NSF/Small BSH 70cm down.

*Did not Observe the fracture cross the column, however, the snow sheared as a cohesive slab when pulled from the back with a shovel after testing.
