Two groups traveled to 1800′ (one on Tincan from Center Ridge parking, one to Center Ridge).

Weather

Cold, clear and calm

Snow surface

Surface hoar observed, on Tincan it disappeared at 1400', but was still present on Center Ridge at 1800'. The snow below the surface hoar (5-10cm) is faceting sitting on top of the rain crust. The rain crust disappears about 1400'.

Snowpack

Good structure and strength overall. One pit on Tincan had a CT23 Q2 and CT28 Q2 both 20cm down on a hardness change. Otherwise no notable results. Total HS 160-170 right side up structure with pencil hard wet basal facets at the ground.
