Toured up the road to the top of thousand dollar run. Did a couple of runs, keeping to mellow terrain. Day started completely overcast, dumping heavy snow, and ended up mostly clear skiing cold smoke.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.

Around 11 AM when we began skiing, it was overcast, flat light, and snowing. By the time we got to the top of Hatch, most of the clouds had cleared, but there was a persistent moderate SE wind.

Snow surface

6-8” of new snow with low moisture content.

Dug a quick pit at the top of thousand dollar run on a NW aspect, ~4500 ft, resulting in ECTPV. Decided not to venture into steeper terrain.
