Shooting cracks on SW facing steep test slope convexity at 2600’. Suspect wind loading.
Weather station read 6 degrees f at noon, partly cloudy. S-1 and 6 degrees warmer at 16:00.
10-15cm of light dry snow on a stout crust at 1800’. We encountered this crust at all elevations(up to 2700’). The snow depth on top of the crust increased with elevation.
Dug a pit at 2600’ on a 32 degree SW facing slope. The surface was light and unconsolidated, despite experiencing shooting cracks 15’ closer to the ridge. HS 112cm. ~60cm 1F slab sitting on BSH/crust combo. This layer was not very energetic: ECTN8, CT16Q2.
