Toured up to Sunburst weather station via Taylor Pass.
None observed.
Mostly broken skies with periods of sunshine.
Nice cool temperatures, 16F to 25F.
Calm winds.
No precipitation.
Supportable crust in lower elevations.
Snow surface consists of 5-15cm of soft recycled powder from the last storm; good ski quality.
Mixed near surface facets and small surface hoar at all elevations except on the ridge tops and cross loaded features.
Varied wind impact on blown areas on Taylor Pass and Sunburst ridge - everything from wind crust, wind slab and sastrugi to bare ice crust and rock.
Plenty of volunteer testers seemed to have good laps all along the south aspect of Sunburst. Only some loose dry activity initiated with turns, but nothing was running far or fast.
Overall the snowpack seemed stable on our tour, but we did not dig a snow pit nor took our probes out once.
