Toured up Baumann Bump (Max’s Mountain) from Virgin Creek Falls. We found most new snow/facets on the SW face until about 2,200 feet of elevation, where we found isolated pockets of wind affected snow and small wind slabs. These wind slabs became more prevalent as we approached the ridge separating the virgin creek drainage and Alyeska resort. Hand-pits showed *surprise* weak facets under a wind slab that ranged from 3 cm to 10 cm.
