Route & General Observations

This is one of those hour glass shaped avalanche paths. The
starting zone at the top is a heavily wind effected bowl. You
can see the wind scoured ridge along the lookers right. It
looked like the main bowl avalanched and triggered a deep slab on
the steep rollover on it way down (where the lower arrow is
pointing). As you can see, the debris pile extends way down into
the flats; so, this is a good example of the type of terrain you
want to avoid whenever it is storming. This is the type of
terrain that could bury you in an avalanche during a big weather
event even if you are just playing it mellow down on the flats.
