left independence mine parking lot and headed up between rae wallace and micro dot to poke around in the snow.

Weather

clear. temps in palmer were -10f, around 0f at the parking lot, and 5f at 3700' midday. very light down valley winds.

Snow surface

6" of low density surface snow.

snow was slightly wind stiffened skiing south from 4000' on micro dot, but lots of fun!

Snowpack

numerous small dry loose observed, as well as small soft slabs mid/lower slope on steep northern terrain on rae wallace.

moderately reactive wind slabs were observed in the lower valleys.

compression tests resulted in moderate to hard scores failing 30 cm down on facets with non-propagating ects.
