Partly cloudy skies, temps in the high 20s low 30s F, calm winds, no precip

Obvious Signs of Instability
Recent Avalanches-NO
Shooting Cracks-NO

Surface Observations
Surface hoar is growing on the surface, ranging in size from 1mm in the lower
elevations to 5mm on ridge tops and favored locations (near moisture sources)
Snow depth by elevation:
1,000’ -1,500’——0 to 5cm
1,500-2,000’——-30 cm
2,000’ to 2,500’—50-60 cm

Snow below the surface
General snowpack setup above 2,000’ is showing the bottom half (20-30cm) as melt
freeze and the top half as “right side up” newer snow (partly settled with new
snow and surface hoar closer to the top. The drier, newer snow is well bonded
to the crust. See pit profile
