Large cornice failure on the SW ridge of Magnum. Did not appear to trigger a slab below. Cornice appears to have failed naturally sometime before 2:30pm today.
Mid-elevation, sun-induced roller balls. One small wet avalanche debris pile in steep, channeled terrain on the E face of Seattle ridge. Shallow, skier-triggered wind slab pocket on the steepest pitch of Tincan Common bowl.
As the sun appears, it is beginning to be a player in the backcountry.
Mostly cloudy in the morning becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. Temps at sea level were 39 degrees at 2PM. 36 degrees at the highway (1,000').
