Avalanche: Turnagain
Location: Road obs thru Turnagain Pass.
Road obs this afternoon through Turnagain Pass. Glassing slopes visible from the Seward hwy w/ binos in hand.
Avalanche Details
Large cornice failure on the SW ridge of Magnum. Did not appear to trigger a slab below. Cornice appears to have failed naturally sometime before 2:30pm today.
Observer Comments
Mid-elevation, sun-induced roller balls. One small wet avalanche debris pile in steep, channeled terrain on the E face of Seattle ridge. Shallow, skier-triggered wind slab pocket on the steepest pitch of Tincan Common bowl.
As the sun appears, it is beginning to be a player in the backcountry.

Skier tracks purposefully and methodically avoiding glide cracks on a SW aspect below Tincan common.
