We were inspecting a cornice for a potential ski run when it broke unexpectedly.
While inspecting a potential ski line the cornice unexpectedly collapsed. With the collapse of the cornice two people went with it. One was able to self arrest at the top. The seccond was swept all the way down the chute to the apron and was on the surface at the end of the slide.
Once the slide had ended the party at the top immediatley had their beacons searching and began their search down the mountain. The idividial that got carried was on top of the slide when it ended and called up that they were okay, and began their search for potential barried partners. Within moments both people searching saw eachother and understood there wasnt anyone barried. The party at the top continued their decent safety. Once the group was at the bottom warm clothes were put on and a primary assessment was done resulting in no serious injuries.
