Two of us skiers each popped off a small, shallow and soft wind slab on our first turns, breaking at our feet. Only about 10’ wide running the same distance for both. South aspect, ~4600’. Map pin is approximate location.
Real chilly temps, inversions and sunshine at high elevations much appreciated. Light winds generally from east or southeast directions. A few clouds to the south.
Faceted snow surface. Interestingly, the rimed snow surface observed on 1/23 tour had faceted away and was not visible. However, it was barely perceptible by feel, about 1.5cm below the very top of the facets.
