Route & General Observations

Booted/skinned up pass road. Less snow coverage than earlier this week. Lots of gravel and ice. Took existing skin track from pass to just below Hatch peak summit. Transitioned to skiing a couple hundred feet below summit.

Red Flags
Red flags are simple visual clues that are a sign of potential avalanche danger. Please record any sign of red flags below.
Observer Comments

Some small wind slabs along skin track from pass road to summit. Mostly cross loading in depressions.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Blue bird and cold. Temps in the teens pretty much all day. Felt warmer in sun. Slight breeze, just enough to keep the ICE bugs off you.

Snow surface

Variable at best. Any untouched snow had a nasty little melt freeze crust. Not supportable but boy will it catch an edge. All tracked snow was firmed up to a nice stiff Styrofoam.

Snowpack

No pit done
