From P.L. at end of road skied up Microdot Ridge to the 3950 level on SW aspect.

Observer Comments

Noted a few D1/D2 naturals? on NW aspect of Microdot from previous snow/wind cycle. Moderate hand shears on upper 4cm of snow at 3450ft. Got shooting cracks and 30cm deep slab breaks with ski cuts on SW aspect small rollovers of wind compacted snow at 3660ft. .

Weather

Skies started out cloudy with flat light, but cleared in the pm, giving us some spring-like weather. Was -6c at 12:45 and calm.

Snow surface

started out in loose snow which transitioned into a mix of loose/wind compacted snow as we climbed up the mtn (pic)

Snowpack

Did a pit at 3745ft on the SE aspect of Microdot. Total snowpact 173cm. Pit down to 25cm from bottom of pack. Got a CT16 on the upper 25cm of new and wind-transported snow, but ECTN20 on same layer. profile attached.
