Avalanche: Turnagain

Location: Lynx Creek Drainage

Route & General Observations

Photos passed along to us of many natural avalanches that have occurred over the past several days of stormy weather. All avalanches likely occurred between 3.17 and 3.19. Many of the deeper pockets look to have released on the old snow surface from the two week dry spell in early March (sun crusts on southerlies and facets/wind hardened snow on northerlies) under the 3-5′ of storm snow. Big thanks to Travis Smith for the photos!
