Avalanche: Hatcher Pass
Location: Hatcher Pass Road: Gate to summit of pass.
On an otherwise bleak day, I skinned from gate to summit of pass and return.
Avalanche Details
Several avalanches along S aspect of Skyscraper Mountain. These seem to be storm soft slab releases. At least one ran to ground and across the road.

No whumphing or settling along the road.
Weather
Warm temperatures...probably just below freezing interpolating from Wx stations. Winds 15G30 mph. Especially exposed at pass.
Snow surface
Heavier density fresh snow from last 24 hrs ranging from 10" to bare ice at Pass.
Soft slab releases on the road cut below Hatcher Pass Lodge.
Storm slab releases on SE aspect of Skyscraper Peak above road.
Poor visibility and depth perception descending road.
