AJB from conversation with skier:
Skier took 5 or 6 turns into the bowl but had a feeling and was skiing at the side of the bowl not the center. Avalanche propagated across entire bowl around 8-12" deep. Skier skied off to the side and let slide run to bottom and then skied down. The bed surface was soft to ski.
No observed prior to avalanche.
Light wind effect from the NW. with visible pockmarks but surface snow was soft.
Observer noted surface hoar on exposed bed surface.
