Route & General Observations

Up from 10.5 mile pullout to bench on Frostbite. On and above the bench (2500′ ele) yesterday’s wind resculpted the dreamy pow and built some windslabs. Saw a few shallow-looking, localized, slab debris fields on E to NE aspects above. Did not see them yesterday evening, but vis was poor. They were not there the day before yesterday.

Forecaster Comments

The wind blew harder (2/23-2/25) than recorded on the Marmot Wx station and IM. The Marmot Wx station wind indicator appears to have not been working, but is online again. Of particular note, the winds gusted strong btw 2/23/-2/25 from the NE at the Gold Chord Mine. When northerly winds blow- the Marmot Wx station and IM do not pick up those gusts. Surface clues, red flags, and obvious signs of wind loading are your best tools in this case for decision making.
