Below are a couple images of our season as of February 1st.
Image 1: Snowpack across Alaska. We are sitting at well below 50% of the Median, which is no surprise after the January melt-down. What is interesting is the amount of blue for the interior.
Image 2: These are average January temperatures at the SNOTEL site on Center Ridge. As opposed to the record breaking warm temperatures seen at Alyeska and the Girdwood Valley, this location only tied for the warmest – 1985 and 2003 being the other warm Januaries. The data only goes back to 1985 however.
