Avalanche Details

While touring up to false summit on Tincan my partner and I watched as a group of 3 skiers started to make their first turns down just underneath the cornice near the false summit. It was very flat light. One skier decided to jump off the biggest part of the cornice and when they crash landed they set off a 6-8 inch fresh soft slab that ran for maybe 20 yards tops. The skier was rolling with the avalanche and the other two skiers were above him/her. The 2 other skiers tried to skied down to the one caught in the avalanche. Then they started pole probing to find some gear that was lost after the crash landing and the avalanche churned up the snow. When we got to the false summit we warned the other skiers that were up top of the situation.
