Natural Avalanche today up at Summit Lake Area....One of many....
Observation: Summit
Location: Butcher Peak Just South of Lower Summit Lake
Today Heavy Rain and winds were triggering natural avalanches today that went
well into lower angle terrain just above valley floor. These avalanches (4
total by 1PM) went to the ground with dirt and broken alders in the debris.
Heavy rain continues at lower elevations as of 330 pm. Picture quality is poor
due to heavy precipitation at the time the picture was taken.
