Route & General Observations

Followed the Old Iditarod Trail though the trees, meet up with the common Tincan uptrack. Continued to just above the weather station. Great storm skiing on the way up and down!

Observer Comments

Saw one instance of very localized collapsing, it was isolated to the recent storm snow. Did notice some mild mobility on top of the previous hard snow layer. This was mostly seen when sidehilling. In general stayed on a pretty conservative route and kept away from steeper slopes.

Weather

30F, wind was variable throughout the day. Visibility decreased around the treeline. Snow accumulation increased in the afternoon.

Snow surface

New snow depth ranged from 6"-8", but 12" pockets could be found.
