Observation: Turnagain

Location: Back bowls of Magnum and Corn Biscuit

Route & General Observations

Traversing the ridge line between top of Super Bowl and basketball couloir, we
all traversed down onto a south facing slope to bypass a rocky section of the
ridge, we went one by one and the third skier triggered a 1.5 to 2 foot deep
slab on about a 38 degree slope near rocks and in a concavity. The skier was
able to ski out of it unharmed. Slab ran about 100 feet onto lower angled slopes
below, guessing this was storm snow on top of facets, and we caught late in the day
when the combination of a southerly slope receiving sun and a skier hitting the
sweet spot triggered it, we touched on lots of south facing slopes in our
travels this day and this was the only instability we found.
