Observer Comments

Good visibility this afternoon afforded me a couple hours to glass a bunch of avalanche terrain visible from the highway throughout Turnagain pass. Folks out and about appeared to be keeping slope angles low on both sides of the highway today.
Spoke with one group at Center ridge who triggered a small wind slab (below treeline) remotely from approx. 100' away. They also experienced localized whumphing on their tour from the parking lot just past the weather station. Another group of snowmachiners in Lynx Creek drainage felt some localized whumphing, also below treeline but did not report any recent avalanches.
Obvious plumes off of the high ridges indicitive of wind loading on leeward (South and West) facing terrain. Cross loading on Seattle ridge was obvious too.
